“I am passionate about assisting people to attain the dreams they have for their lives and to facilitate positive change in communities. I am creative and use my love of music, gardening and craft as well as good organisational skills to train, equip and serve the people around me. “
It is deeply satisfying to see people mature when they come to understand their own worth and their importance in the community they live in. The development of women in the areas of parenting and family has always been close to my heart.
Living and working in rural areas in South Africa and Botswana from 1999 to 2008, gave me the opportunity to have wide ranging, cross cultural experience in the initial planning, implementation and management of various projects. An initiative to establish a National Early Childhood Development training program for the caregivers of HIV/Aids orphans and vulnerable children in Botswana is one of the highlights of my career.
Our family moved to Cape Town in 2009. Now that my children are adults I have the opportunity and time to invest in the lives of the women and babies that The Zoe Project serve. I do antenatal talks on a Friday and support women in labour as a doula.
